It is our goal to operate our organization in a responsible and transparent manner. Provided below are the Town’s recent Budget Ordinances and Financial Statements or ‘Audits’. In North Carolina, local governments operate on a fiscal year that runs from the start of July to the end of June. Local governments are required by law to have an independent Audit conducted for every fiscal year. We do not have an Audit for the current year because these are not completed until months after the end of the fiscal year.

Budget Ordinances are provided for each year. The Budget Ordinance shows the Town’s anticipated revenues and expenditures. The Budget Ordinance is independently reviewed by the N.C. Department of State Treasurer and the Town is legally bound to spend money in accordance with the Budget Ordinance. The Town can only deviate from the Budget Ordinance if the Board of Commissioners approves a Budget Amendment. If you have any questions about
